CNAF gaskets for industrial flange connections

CNAF gaskets, also commonly referred to as compressed fiber gaskets or compressed non-asbestos gaskets, are manufactured from reinforcing fibers, elastomeric binders and functional fillers that are compressed into sheet material.

They are widely used for sealing flanged pipe connections and equipment in general industrial applications where a conformable, economical and reliable gasket material is required.

CNAF gasket material can be selected according to the service media, temperature, pressure, flange facing and required chemical resistance.

Gaskets can be supplied as standard rings or cut to specified dimensions and flange requirements.

CNAF gasket configurations

CNAF gaskets can be supplied in different sheet grades, thicknesses and cut configurations according to the application and mating flange.

01

Full Face

Full-face CNAF gaskets extend across the complete flange face and include the bolt-hole pattern. They are commonly used with flat-face flange arrangements.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CNAF Gasket FAQ

Common questions about compressed non-asbestos fiber gaskets, configurations, materials and flange compatibility.

CNAF stands for Compressed Non-Asbestos Fiber. CNAF gaskets are manufactured from reinforcing fibers, elastomeric binders and fillers that are compressed into sheet material and cut into the required gasket shape.

CNAF gaskets use non-asbestos reinforcing materials such as synthetic or aramid fibers instead of asbestos. They are widely used as non-asbestos alternatives for suitable industrial sealing applications.

Yes. CNAF material can be supplied in configurations suitable for different flange arrangements, including ring-type and full-face gaskets. The dimensions should be selected to match the specific flange facing and application.

Provide the NPS, pressure class, flange facing, gasket dimensions or flange standard, required thickness, material grade, service media and quantity. A drawing or existing gasket specification can also be provided for confirmation.

Yes. CNAF gaskets can be included in a mixed piping requirement together with compatible flanges, studs, nuts, washers and other piping components. This allows the complete flange-joint requirement to be sourced together.
